2019 Gong Reflection of Heaven and Humanity dance concept

1, The theme keywords:

Ink dancing three movements; “Sun", "Yin and Yang ", "Moon".



2, the work concept interpretation:

Breaking through the traditional concept of perceptual limb-dancing, create a new and rational contemporary cross-border ink installation artistic dance, establish a visual language in the context of philosophical ideas, using only black and white light, dry ice and water sound. The expression of ink and human body, heaven and earth, yin and yang constitutes the soul of the heavenly image and the artistic reflection of the temperament.

3, Description of scenes:

The first movement: “Sun"
From dawn to sunrise, from the earth waking to the birth of the day.

The second movement: "Yin and Yang"
Spring - summer - autumn.
From the tender shoots of spring to the romance of love;
From the sunshine of summer to the madness of love;
From the harvest of autumn to the proliferation of love.

The third movement: "Moon"
From sunset to the moon rise, from the dust settled to the moonlight sleep.

4, preview of the ink painting works:

The preview of the works on the stage has the same effect as the exhibition space of professional art gallery.

Turn off the stage foreground lights, turn on the stage background lights, and the lights are directed at the stage white background board, so that the light is reflected from the board to the art work. The audience can freely move between the works to watch, and cast the shadow of the walking audience onto the screen, so that the audience and the work become one, integrating the reality and the meaning of the work under the same context, forming a figure interlaced with shadows, people in the same frame with the paintings, the dreamy and translucent artistic vision and the dialogue scene of the heavens and human beings. 

After the preview is finished, the front curtain of the stage is closed.


5, ink dance performance:

Throughout the entire ink dance performance, the movement design should be to combine the dancer and the painting into one; the moving dancers and the still paintings as one. The dancers freely dance among and in the paintings, with their shadows casted onto the works, allowing the appearance of people and subjects in reality in the same frame and context with the shapes and soul within the art; thus creating an interlaced setting between people and shadows, heaven and people, and the translucent artistic vision along with the dialogue of heaven and human beings. 


The first movement: “Sun"

Before the opening of the front curtain, the dancers are already in place, forming a circle of earth under the two works in the front row. As the breathing sound of the dancers and the earth go from weak to strong, the sound of the water go from far to near, dry ice begin to rise. The curtain slowly opens, and the first morning light before dawn appear in the morning mist.

The dancers in the earth circle begin to move up and down, starting to move like a wave in the plane of the earth's circle, and then the dancers begin to stand up slowly, looking up at the sky, waiting for the sunrise in the east.

At this time, the morning bell ring and the three works in the back row slowly fall. Then, the two works in the front row slowly fall into the circle of the earth surrounded by the dancers. Following, the sun rises to illuminate the white background board of the stage. At this time, the dancer moves to behind each painting. From behind, the morning light on the background board casts the dancer's shadow onto the screen and scatters it onto the foreground of the stage.

The second movement: "Yin and Yang"

The first stage: the love of spring.

The dancers spring up like a bamboo shoot, chasing honey like a butterfly, immersed in the ocean of blooming flowers and spring.

The second stage: the madness of summer.

The dancers are enjoying the passion of love and the romance of sex in the sunshine. The five works are alternating ups and downs with the dancer's passion and the rhythm of the music.

The third stage: the harvest of autumn.

The dancer imitates the fetus in the amniotic water under the care of the mother, and enjoys the happiness and hug of childbirth. 


The third movement: "Moon"

The stage light slowly moves back until the stage background board. Then it falls, and the dancer dance with the moonlight. When the night bell rings and the moonlight rises slowly from the bottom of the stage background board, the dancer gradually moves toward the back of each picture. Similarly, the moonlight reflected by the background board projects the shadow of the dancer onto the work. The long reflection scatters in the moonlight. As the sound of the music become more and more faint, from the near to far, all the dancers begin to fall down slowly behind each piece until they lie on the ground, and the dry ice appears again. At the same time, the two works in the front row slowly rise, and then the three works in the back row also rise. As the work progressed, all the dancers begin to move closer to the center of the stage, and the hands and feet are connected to form the earth's circle again. The front curtain at this time start to slowly close.


6, Closing: 

Curtain slowly opens again, lively music starts. All dancers, directors, artist go up the stage in order to bow to the audience and to thank the audience and to take pictures. 


Remark
This concept, stems from contemporary artistic creativity, in an attempt to produce a multimedia visual artistic experience from the perspective of a new cross-border artistic installation dancing performance. The specific execution of the dance shall depend on the cooperation between Sacramento State dancing department director Lorelei and the students as well as all the editors, lights and costume designers.

2019宫跃斌《天人象映》水墨舞蹈创作构想


1,作品主题关键词:
水墨舞蹈三乐章;《日》,《阴阳》,《月》。

2,作品概念诠释:
突破传统概念上的感性舞蹈肢体表达方式,创造一种全新的理性的当代跨界装置水墨舞蹈艺术,建立一种哲学意义语境下的化界艺术视觉语言,运用单一黑白灯光,单一干冰和水声,表达水墨与人体,阴阳与天地所构成天人象映气韵光影的艺术之魂。

3,作品场景描述:
第一乐章:《日》
从黎明到日出,由大地复苏到日出生息。
第二乐章:《阴阳》
春天-夏天-秋天。
由春的嫩芽到爱的浪漫;
由夏的阳光到爱的疯狂;
由秋的收获到爱的繁衍。
第三乐章:《月》
从日落到月升,由尘埃落定到月光睡梦荡漾。

4,绢上水墨作品预览:
舞台上的作品预览,以专业美术馆的展厅空间效果相同。
关闭舞台前景灯光,打开舞台背景灯光,灯光射向舞台白色背景板,使光线由舞台白色背景板反射到透明的作品上。观众可以自由穿梭于作品之间进行观看,将行走中的观众影子投射到画面上,使观众和作品成为一体,将现实存在和作品寓意融入在同一个语境下,形成一种人影交错,人物同画,通透梦幻的艺术视觉和天人象映的对话场景。
作品预览结束后,舞台前幕关闭。

5,水墨舞蹈表演:
在整个水墨舞蹈表演过程,舞者的动作编排尽可能将舞者和作品融为一体,将动感中的舞者和静止中的作品融为一体。舞者自由翩翩起舞于作品之间和前后,舞者的影子投射到画面上,使现实中的人和物与作品中的型和意出现在同一个画面,同一个语境,形成一种人影交错,天人交合,通透梦幻的艺术视觉和天人象映的对话场景。

第一乐章:《日》
在前幕打开之前,舞者已经就位,在前排的两幅作品下方形成一个地球圆,随着舞者与大地的呼吸声由弱到强,水声由远到近,干冰开始升腾,幕帘慢慢打开,在晨雾中出现黎明前的第一束晨光。
地球圆中的舞者开始上下起伏移动,开始像波浪一样在地球圆的平面中海水般波浪外延,接着,舞者开始缓缓站起,抬头望向天空,等待日出东方。
此时,早晨的钟声响起,后排的三幅作品慢慢落下。然后,前排的两幅作品也随之慢慢落入舞者所围成的地球圆圈之中,太阳随之冉冉升起照射舞台白色背景板上,这时,舞者移至每幅画的背后,背景板上的晨光将舞者的影子长长的投射到画面上,洒落在舞台前景的大地上。

第二乐章:《阴阳》
第一阶段:春天的爱恋。
舞者像春笋般冒出大地,像蝴蝶般追逐采蜜,沉浸在一派春暖花开爱的海洋。
第二阶段:夏天的疯狂。
舞者在阳光灿烂,在暴风雨中,尽情的享受着爱的激情和性爱的浪漫。 五幅作品与舞者的激情,音乐的节奏同步上下交替升降起伏。
第三阶段:秋天的收获。
舞者模仿羊水中的胎儿在母亲的呵护下愉悦荡漾,在十月怀胎一次分娩时刻的幸福和拥抱。

第三乐章:《月》
舞台前光慢慢后移直至舞台白色背景板后落下,舞者随着月光曲翩翩起舞。当晚上的钟声响起,月光从舞台背景板的底部慢慢升起时,舞者逐步向每幅画的后面移动,同样,背景板反射出的月光将舞者的影子投射在作品上,长长的倒影醉倒在月光下。随着音乐声有大变小,由近到远,所有的舞者在每幅作品的背后也开始慢慢向下移动直至躺在大地,干冰再次出现。同时,前排的两幅作品慢慢上升,接着,后排的三幅作品也随之上升。在作品上升过程中,所有舞者开始往舞台中心靠拢,手脚相连,再次形成地球圆,前幕帘开始慢慢关闭。

谢幕: 
帷幕再次慢慢拉开,欢快音乐响起,所有舞者,导演,艺术家依序上台鞠躬致谢,与观众合影留念。

本构想,谨从当代艺术创作的独创性,从对水墨舞蹈在跨界和化界语境下进行的一种多媒介视觉艺术创作尝试。作品的具体实施完成,全有赖于加州大学舞蹈学院院长Lorelei 和舞蹈学院的学生及有关编导,灯光,服装等教授的协同努力。

Today, it was the last show of the ink dance. My ink painting “Heaven and Humanity in Reflection” was incorporated into a modern dance performed by Dance Academy of California State University Sacramento. This interactive visual art and dance performance is my cross-border experiment.

At the moment when the curtain was lowered down, when I drove alone on my way home at night, I thought, I should stay in the theater, and I should play back and reflect on the flaws and auras in each movement of my ink dance. It's like in the past when I finish my work, I'm always used to hanging it on the wall and examining it. I'm always used to brewing a pot of hot tea and inviting a couple of close friends to criticize. Otherwise, I will feel uneasy. Today, the situation, mood, age, and season are not as sound as before. A pot of hot tea is brewed, and it will be cold in a short while; the shadow under the lamp is often regarded as a confidant, but she will be sleepy before a cup of tea is finished.

I opened the video taken on the scene and felt that I was watching my excrement. It was emitting hot vapor, ugly and smelly. However, I had to force myself to endure the embarrassment of swallowing it down. Except for the first and last scenes I can give an A, most of the dance in the middle is only C or below. I find that the choreography of dance and my ink work still linger on perceptual expression and literary decoration, rather than the rational thinking and scene dialogue on the philosophical structure I hope.

Straddling on both eastern and western arts, I desired to crossbreed, conceive and give birth in order to actualize a cross-boundary modern ink artist. I have spent a whole semester running between dance theater and my studio. Reflecting on the result, I can only say Willful mind nurtures the vision and frustration cultivate the heart.

Sincerely! It is a great honor for the ink artist to be pleased that the American institution of higher learning can perform choreography for Chinese ink art. Thanks for the chance of trial and error in this cross-border ink experiment. It is also a blessing for ink artists.

The sun is setting, and it will rise tomorrow.

今天,是我的《天人象映》绢上水墨和加州大学舞蹈学院合作完成的水墨舞蹈作品,也是我一次任性试错所进行的当代跨界水墨的实验,在大学音乐厅的最后一次演出。

当谢幕降下那一刻,当我独自驾车夜路回赶,我想,我应该留在音乐厅,应该独自回放和回味作品中的瑕疵和灵光? 过往,当作品完成后,我总习惯于独自欣赏一番,总习惯于沏上一壶热茶,约上一二知己品头论足,吹毛求疵一番,若不这般,心不踏实。如今,光景,心境,年龄,时令已大不如从前。一壶热茶沏上,一会儿就凉;常视灯下的影子为知己,可一杯茶的功夫她就困,,,

当我回到工作室打开现场所拍下的视频,感觉是在看自己的排泄物,冒着热气,又丑又臭,还得默默承受着硬吞下去的尴尬。除了开头和结尾两段舞蹈场景我能给出个A外,中间大部分仅在C或C以下。我发现舞蹈的编排和水墨之间仍停留在感性表达和文学的修饰,而不是我所希望的在哲学结构上的理性思考和场景对话。

一个脚踏东西企图通过杂交,怀胎,分娩去实现当代水墨跨界艺术的自己,一个学期奔走于大学舞蹈学院课堂和工作室之间所创作的作品,回望其结果,可谓,任性养眼,无奈养心。

谨!欣慰于美國的高等学府能為中国水墨編舞表演,實為水墨藝術家的荣幸!感恩于此次水墨跨界艺术实验中的试错机会,亦为水墨艺术家的福气。

太阳已在落山,明天还会升起。
